I am an entrepreneur with extensive experience in Europe, Japan and the US, and have domain expertise in the Software as a Service (SaaS), User Experience & Usability testing and Crowd-sourcing sectors.

In 2006 I exited from two of my previous startups by selling Banda Ancha (a Spanish wireless operator) to Clearwire Communications as well as Alo Comunicaciones (a Spanish fixed line operator) to Euphony PLC.

After a sabbatical to explore other interests such as writing and filmmaking, I founded Userlytics Corporation in 2009, where I am currently the CEO (www.userlytics.com and ushowtell.com).

Previously in 2000, I organized and led a consortium of major European companies, including UPC, Dragados & Hydrocantabrico that subsequently won a Spanish wireless license in the 3.5 Ghz band and thereafter established Banda Ancha SA to build out the network.

I co-founded Alo Comunicaciones in 1997, which became the 5th largest telecom operator by market share in late 1999, and I worked with Morgan Stanley in early 2000 to take Alo public on the Nasdaq and Spanish “Nuevo Mercado” at a $ 1.6 billion valuation.

During the telecom downturn of 2000-2002 and after the cancellation of the planned IPO I organized and led an MBO that purchased the majority stake of Alo Comunicaciones (2001), as well as the stakes of Dragados, UPC and Hydrocantabrico in Banda Ancha (2002).

From 1994 through 1997 I founded and managed Mediafon SA, an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Call Centre provider.

After completing my MBA at INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) in 1987, I spent 5 years in Japan managing the international and Japanese market research activities of EGIS K.K., as well as Fuji Keizai and Tokyo Consulting Associates, from 1988 through 1992

From 1982 through 1986 I worked as a testing process engineer of nuclear power plant systems for Bechtel Power Corporation in Gaithersburg, Maryland, as well as at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Power Plant in Mississippi, the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant in Kansas, and the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in Cleveland, Ohio.

I have been a member of the Young President Organization (YPO) since 2004 and World President Organization (WPO) since 2010. I am also a member of the Usability Professionals Association (UPA), the Council of American Research Survey Organizations (CASRO), the European Society for Opinion and Market Research (ESOMAR) and the Marketing Research Association (MRA).

I am a US citizen and US Navy veteran.
